Bruce Brookshire - DOC HOLLIDAY singer and leadguitarist reviews our CD
"...But I have listened to your CD today. It is quite good! I actually listened twice, with our drummer Cadillac. Fine Southern Rock! "Maydell" - A Gov't Mule song? It sounds so, but I am not that familiar with them. The first thing that struck me was how good the guitarist is. This has a good groove, solid bass playing. "Carolina" -The guitar player continues to impress. A Southern song with an interesting chord structure, a solid drummer, and some Mark Knopfler-type guitar. "Gettin' restless again" - It's no reflection on the singer, he is quite good, he sounds very bluesy and Southern at the same time, but this song seems like it would be a great instrumental tune...have you thought about that? "Grown" - Skynyrd meets Blackfoot. "Now my home is on the road", that's a good line. Seems like I've heard it before.... "Lady's Blues" - The singer impresses me, not just on this tune especially, but by now he is building up a good relationship with the listener. "Good as gone" - My favorite. A Southern Rock meets The Stones/Chili Peppers type thing. Very tight and polished, with a good drum sound, and a catchy chorus/hook.
All in all, a good collection. It makes me want to hear more. You have a very good rhythm section, clever bass patterns, and the drums work well together, with very good timing and meter. Keyboard player is very good and also polite-he does not try to be the star-very good for him- with an outstanding guitar player and singer who wears well on his audience. Something I would like to produce at my studio if you ever get the chance to come over.""I do like the picture of your group, it looks very Southern."
