It's very seldom that you find a real southern rock band in the European countries.
Nocturn is from Hamburg in Germany and deliver old school classic rock'n'roll very inspired of US rock gods such as Allman Brothers, 38 Special, Molly Hatchet and Lynyrd Skynyrd. In matter of fact, Nocturn has toured with Molly Hatchet and Doc Holliday, but do appear to be more laid back and well suited for smaller venues compared to the bigger acts. The selftitled album is a very laid back affair, and perfect for an relaxing affair on your back with a beer on your belly. The first real uptempo and more guitar driven track is the eleventh - T-Bird - that rocks pretty well. Soundwise is the album lacking a bit, and the band is with no doubt better off in a little club jamming their boots off. An interesting little gem for the die-hard collectors of the Southern sound.
